An Australian Bush Event (Purpose: Meet and Greet Event for International Delegates)

Our client for this event wanted to organise a highly memorable meet and greet cocktail function for their VIP international guest speakers, and they wanted to showcase Australia. Given the logistical and time restraints being in Melbourne’s CBD, we decided that if we couldn’t take guests out of the city to the Australian bush, we’d bring the bush to the city by transforming our venue into an Australian bush themed setting.

We worked with our amazing suppliers to bring in native Australian plants and fauna which were strategically placed around the venue: imagine a vine-wrapped bar, entrance hall filled with trees, and networking tables decorated with Australian native flowers. Guests were introduced to native Australian animals including a koala, a kangaroo joey, a kookaburra, snakes and many more! A traditional Australian BBQ dinner was on the menu featuring Aussie favourites pavlova and lamingtons for dessert. To finish the night off, our professional Aboriginal music instructor treated guests to a didgeridoo performance followed by a lesson on the didgeridoo and clap sticks.

A Yarra Valley Experience (Purpose: Incentive Event)

Many of our clients use incentive events to encourage staff to achieve specific business goals and we always enjoy our days spent with incentive groups. Who doesn’t like being spoilt and rewarded for doing a good job?! For this event, our winners were treated to a day in the Yarra Valley.

They began with a wine blending experience accompanied by decadent cheese platters – perfect when blending a classic Yarra Valley Shiraz! After the winning team was crowned with the Decanter Award, the group were transported to a secluded and stunning venue that was formerly a horse stable…. An acoustic musician greeted guests along with a choice of cocktails and delicious canapés in the beautiful stable gardens. On the menu was a three-course feast that included property-grown ingredients and award-winning wine. As a treat, guests received the choice of a local wine and chocolates from the region to take home. Needless to say these clients had a highly memorable and indulgent afternoon.

A Streets of Melbourne Event (Purpose: Entertaining Corporate Clients)

Entertaining clients and letting them know that you appreciate their patronage is very important for many businesses. For this brief, we were asked to prepare a Melbourne-focused event showcasing the city’s renowned food and wine. Given Melbourne is so rich in culture and has an amazing food scene, we thought that no one restaurant will do….

So we took our guests on a progressive lunch through Melbourne, visiting four iconic restaurants. At the first location, to ensure the mood for the day was set and guests were welcomed properly, Dame Edna was waiting to greet guests at the door and also provided the welcome speech! To make our guests feel even more important, each location was hired out exclusively or guests were seated in a private dining area. Even guests who lived in Melbourne experienced the city in an exclusive and fresh way.

2-Day Retreat on the Mornington Peninsula (Purpose: Staff Retreat)

Many businesses today are realizing the value of taking staff out of their normal environment to refocus, set new targets and ensure communication lines are open and staff morale is high by holding staff retreats/ conferences. For this team, they headed down to the Mornington Peninsula for a two day conference and team building sessions.

Mornings consisted of departmental or whole-company focus sessions and the afternoons were spent outdoors participating in team building activities. For those interstate or even international departments, they were able to participate via Skype sessions projected on large screens.

Old and new staff alike left the conference with a new sense of purpose, a greater appreciation of the overall business objectives as well as a better understanding of their colleagues.

A Long Lunch in Macedon Ranges (Purpose: Staff Appreciation Event)

More and more companies are focusing on staff recognition and for this client, it involved a day trip to the Macedon Ranges for a 9-course degustation with matched wines. Before moving inside to the gorgeously set private dining room, guests relaxed outside in a beautiful setting overlooking a lake, being treated to amazing canapés, a sparkling wine or cold beer and chilled tunes. This was the perfect way to indulge staff and thank them for their hard work with a truly memorable experience.
